Oriental Dream Earrings

The second part to the Oriental collection is now posted on the Unique Items blog. These are the earrings to the charm. They and the necklace are made of silk thread covered with glitter gloss. They have winter white Czech beads in two sizes and red cut glass beads. They are made completely of macrame and have 10karat gold covered hardware.

I finished a new piece of jewelry which I call the Oriental Dream Collection. It is at the Gimme A Dream's Crafts and Unique Items site.

New Beginnings

I call these earrings the New Beginnings Collection because they remind me of New Years. When dressing for the New Years Eve party, the type of jewelry worn would be something flashy, like these.

These earrings are made in macrame of a number 30, glitter thread. It is like having sparkles at every movement. The blue glass Czech beads are of outstanding quality as are the little white snow beads. The hooks are silver coated. I must admit, they are stunning in artificial light, though the color is a little drab in natural lighting. The camera does not pick up the life and spark of these little gems.

The matching necklace will be a while because while it is very tedious work to macrame in thread, it appears that I didn't buy enough thread for the entire job and must return for more. I had a spool of thirty yards.

All in all, the quality and originality of these and the other pieces done in these collections is astounding. I would never have expected it of myself to be capable of such art work.

Glass Beads And Macrame Choker

Just another way I found to waste my time. I picked up beautiful blue porcelain beads the other day and thought they would make a nice bracelet. I started by tying eight number 10 string to a clasp and square knotting three rows. I added the porcelain bead in the center and surround it with six blue iridescent glass beads, three on either side. I knotted five rows of square knots and repeated the beading array twenty-two times ending with three rows of square knots and attaching the end clasp.

As I said it started out as a bracelet, but when I reached the right length, I found I had enough string left over to make a choker. Thus, creation number eight has made it's way off the drawing table and into Gimme A Dream's craft site.

I'll be making the earrings to match and if I can get more beads I'll make the bracelet, too.
