"Earth"

Earth can be the world as a whole or the ground that we walk on. I have little control of the earth, the world but I can be creative on the little bit of earth in my front and back yard.

It is the last week the December and 2007 will be a time of the past soon. Huge banks of snow flank the driveway here and keep me from getting the large rolls of hay to the horses and the most pressing image on my mind is going to the garden and getting my hands into the earth.

I can only remember the gardens of the past, because this year has been too difficult to plant. The coming year, 2008 will be different. I will have flowers circling the house once again with delphiniums reaching over the roof and scarlet runners twining up the poles and running across the electric lines.

I may not see any roses or lilacs this year, but it is certain that they will return in the coming years. This past year they suffered badly because the horses were and still are paddocked in the flowering area and it is true that many plants will not come back, but the roses and lilacs will. The horses will be moved at the first sign of spring, to the Inside Ridge, where the beach will be accessible for riding, leaving the flower gardens ready to be replanted, redesigned.

The gardens will be better then ever.

I love the way you can still see beautiful flowers circling your garden underneath the snow.

This is the beauty of the Earth, no drab thoughts can take it away!

yes and nothing can destroy it. Even if we all die to a nuclear winter their will still be live. We are no threat to the earth. We can't harm the earth we can only prevent the earth from giving us it's milk.

What a wonderful way to start or re-start the new year. Of cause all things must pass to pave way for new ones but at least you can begin again.

Have a great week.

I agree. We could create our versions of a beautiful world just right outside our back yards. We can do so much instead of coplaining of pollutions and doing nothing about it.

I wish you well.

I knew I could rely on you to find something possitive to say on this weeks topic. Reading through the majority of the other contributions was making me quite depressed at what should be a happy and optomistic time of the year.Thank you.

I've never been a gardener but so envy those that are - the photos are glorious and so hopeful. Snow up to the windowsills here.
