I lost my young horse Sammy (Sam's Pride) on Sunday, due to natural causes. She was buried on Monday and I have been feeling down and more than a bit lost this past week. First in trying to save her life, then watching her die and finally committing to the final arrangements.
Because of sad and unfortunate activities I haven't been blogging or setting up the www.gimmeadream.com site.
By email, Instant Messenger, telephone and favorite forums Helium and Yewie, well wishes and sympathies have been flooding in, for which I am so grateful. One such email from Sammers, the person for whom I kept the name Sammy on my youngster filly because she was such a good friend, send a poem be an unknown author which is placed below.
"For Sammy and for you.... one day you WILL meet again!" - Samantha Broaddrick
The Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here,
that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they
can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm
and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and
vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again,
just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they
each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly
stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His
eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying
over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally
meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.
The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the
beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your
pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together...

So sorry, ol' pal.
Again, my deepest sympathy. I'm glad to see you doing better though.
I am so sorry to hear about Sammy Wynn. Must be hard for you. The poem is lovely. Sent you some hugs
Awww Wynn, my dear friend... I'm glad the poem was able to help you and that you liked it.
I know how much losing such a sweet and smart pet hurts and I wanted to make sure that you knew that I was thinking of you and Sammy.
I saved Sammy's picture to my computer. She'll be displayed for all to see. Even in that picture, you can tell she's "listening" and "watching" and trying to figure something out. She was a very intuitive gal and I know you will miss her so. Just remember, in time, you WILL meet again.
Love you my friend.. HUGE HUGS!
Sammers
my heart and my prayers are with you always. I am never farther than a screeen away and you are always within a thoughts distance to my heart. God bless you, Wynn. Always JASA for you, Darrel
Wynn,
You know my thoughts and prayers are with you. I feel so bad about the loss of Sammy. I am so glad Sam could find a poem that made you so happy. What a great poem it is. Sammy will forever live on in our hearts as she will in yours.

I've had "The Rainbow Bridge" before myself so i know exactly the pain you are feeling.
The death of a loved one is always a shock.
